About SendMeTheDrop
SendMeTheDrop is the platform for activation organisers, and the people looking for them. SendMeTheDrop (SMTD) is an iPhone app and website, based in London: a map of one-off, culture-led events such as pop-ups, supper clubs, club nights, sample sales, gallery openings and drops. Organisers put their events on it, and people get on them with one button: Send me the drop.
SendMeTheDrop is not affiliated with SendMe, the delivery app, or with Drop.
What it is
SendMeTheDrop, SMTD for short, is a map of things that happen once. A supper club in someone’s flat, a club night in a railway arch, a sample sale that’s gone by Sunday, a gallery opening, a brand’s product drop. Organisers put them on the map, and each one is called a drop.
It’s for two groups of people. People who want to know what’s on near them tonight and this weekend, beyond the big ticket sites. And the brands, collectives, promoters, chefs, venues and run crews who put those things on.
How it works
Every drop says plainly how you get in: walk-in, RSVP, guestlist (the organiser approves you) or tickets. Walk-in, RSVP and guestlist are free.
One button does it: Send me the drop. Depending on the drop, it puts you on the list, sends your request to the organiser, or opens ticket checkout. Tickets are bought and kept in the app.
Some drops are sealed. The organiser keeps the exact address back until a time they choose, and until then the map shows only the area. At that time the address is sent to everyone on the drop. Ticketed drops are never sealed: you see where it is before you pay.
At the door, organisers check people in from a door link. It scans tickets and ticks off RSVPs and guestlists, needs no account and works offline.
The app can also tell you when a drop goes on near you. SendMeTheDrop shows how many people are going, never who.
For organisers
Free events cost nothing to run, always. The HOST plan is free for organisers; if you sell tickets, the buyer pays a booking fee, published on the pricing page and shown in the price from the first screen.
Read how it works for organisers, see the free event tools, or create an event.
Who’s behind it
SendMeTheDrop was founded by Joe Silver and is made in London. London is where most drops are; organisers can put things on anywhere in the UK, and they show on the map wherever you are.
