How near me works
Open the map and allow location, and it centres on you. Every drop shows the area, the time and how you get in, and the ones around you are the first you see.
In the iPhone app you can ask to hear when something goes on near you. That means within about a kilometre of where you last opened the app, or of a place you've saved, like home or work. It sends no more than two a day, never between 10pm and 9am, and drops that land together come as one message.
What you'll find
- Free things. Walk-in, RSVP and guestlist drops cost nothing. Most of the map is one of the three.
- Tonight. Openings, listening parties and club nights. See what's on tonight.
- Daytime. Sample sales, markets, pop-up shops, run clubs and day parties.
- Sealed drops. The exact address is held back until a set time and sent to everyone on the list. Until then you see the area, which is enough to know if it's near.
Where it works
Anywhere in the UK. London has the most by a distance so far, so if you're there, start with things to do in London or an area page like Hackney or Peckham. In other cities, the map shows what's been dropped near you, and more goes on as organisers there join.
Your location
The map uses your location to centre itself and doesn't need it to work; you can move around it by hand. Alerts use a rough area, not your exact position, and you can switch them off in Settings at any time.
